ASEAN Young Climate Leaders Programme (ASEAN YCLP)
The ASEAN Foundation, in collaboration with SAP, GIZ, and Common Purpose, has just launched its newest youth program, ASEAN YCLP. This program will gather young leaders to exchange ideas and collaborate in resolving the issues related to the environment, sustainability, and climate action in the ASEAN region. It will be held from 21 September 2021 to 30 June 2022.
As we know, the climate crisis has become the most
urgent issue of the decade. Youth, in particular, has been vocal about their
concerns regarding the continuity of the planet. Currently, young people are
seen as the future generation instead of active agents of the change and the
solution. Therefore, this ASEAN YCLP program will promote youth contribution
revolving around the ASEAN Strategic Plan on Environment. It will cover the
issue such as Nature conservation and biodiversity, chemicals and waste, and
environmentally sustainable cities, and many others.
If you are passionate about the issue and are ready to
be one of the climate leaders, you are highly encouraged to join this program.
The selected participants will be joining a 4-day virtual workshop to meet with
experts from various fields and will be able to team up for projects with other
ASEAN youths.
The deadline for the application is on 31 October
2021, so don’t miss the chance.
