[Internship] Traineeship for Communication Support: Rethinking Plastic Project
Greetings everyone!
In collaboration with Expertise France, The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is opening a chance for communication support trainees on the project Rethinking Plastic Project. The project aims at supporting a transition to sustainable consumption and production of plastic in East and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, and contributing to reducing marine waste. The program will run for approximately 3 months starting from February 2022 with another 3-months potential extension.
Towards the issue, Indonesia generates approximately 7.8 million tons of plastic waste annually, with more than half of it is still being poorly managed. It leads to our country becoming the second-largest country in the production of marine plastic debris in the world. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German organization that provide services worldwide focusing on international cooperation for sustainable development. As the program concerns, Rethinking Plastic Waste is expected to produce some key outputs including facilitating activities and increasing awareness about sustainable consumption and production of plastics as well as their impacts on the environment of littering.
Later, the main responsibility of the trainees is to learn from and support the communication and visibility of the project. By enrolling in this program, the students will get insights and firsthand experience in working at an international organization, and thereafter, enhance their adaptability in an international environment. The students can also learn how the project is being implemented, monitored, and communicated. With many comprehensive activities under the project, it doesn’t only benefit the students in practical manners but also deepens their knowledge on the issue being represented. All these are certainly useful for building soft skills, experience, and knowledge for future endeavors.
The program is open for fresh graduate bachelor or active students in the last semester in communication/International relations/media journalism/environment, or other subjects. Moreover, the applicants are expected to have basic knowledge of communication, be familiar with environmental issues, and have a strong interest in working on the related issue, especially on environmental management and human behavior.
So, if you are concerned about environmental issues, especially the ones being represented above, this is the most suitable opportunity for you.
