Hosted by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), this annual event that will be hosted from 8 to 15 July 2024 offers an array of activities spanning Art and Language, Sports, and Inclusive Education. With a mission to foster cross-cultural understanding, friendship, and academic growth, the camp provides a platform for students from diverse backgrounds to come together and explore the wonders of Indonesia, through Surabaya. From traditional dance workshops to culinary sessions, every activity is carefully curated to promote experiential learning and personal growth. Courses on UNESA Summer Camp:
- Course 1: Introduction of Indonesia & Local (Surabaya) Language by BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers), providing participants with foundational knowledge of the Indonesian language and insights into Surabaya's local dialects;
- Course 2: Disabilities and Inclusive Education, aimed at raising awareness about inclusivity and empowering participants to create more accessible and inclusive communities;
- Course 3: Sports and Indonesia's Traditional Games, offering participants the chance to learn and engage in traditional Indonesian games, promoting physical activity and cultural appreciation;
- Course 4: Learn to Cook Indonesian Dish/Dessert, a hands-on culinary experience where participants master the art of preparing delicious Indonesian cuisine;
- Course 5: Learn Indonesian Dance, where participants discover the beauty and intricacy of traditional Indonesian dance forms, promoting cultural preservation and appreciation;
- Course 6 & 7: City Tours exploring the history, landmarks, shopping, and culinary delights of Surabaya, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the city's heritage and contemporary culture.
Program Fees:
The UNESA Summer Camp 2024 offers an enriching experience at an affordable cost, designed to make participation accessible to students from diverse backgrounds. The program fee is 2.500.000 IDR (approximately 157 USD).
